PRmePRed is a SVM based prediction tool to predict arginine methylation sites in proteins.

In eukaryotes protein arginine methylation play vital role in many important biological process. PRMTs( Protein arginine methyltransferases) methylates a wide variety of substrates, including histones, transcription factors and a number of proteins involved in RNA processing, transport and translation. Sequence and structure based property used to develop a support vector machine based classifier to predict the arginine methylation sites in proteins.

The PRmePRed perform reasonably well with an accuracy of 84.10%, a sensitivity of 82.38%, a specificity of 83.77%, and a Matthew's correlation coefficient of 0.7 in 10-fold cross validation.
