The database provides genus-specific information on the length variation of organellar (mitochondrial and chloroplast) microsatellites in two major taxonomic groups: Metazoa and Viridiplantae. In Metazoa, mitochondrial genomes from 2044 genera were analyzed, while in Viridiplantae, 1208 genera were studied, comprising 1138 with chloroplast genomes and 70 with mitochondrial genomes
The database contains information on SSRs from 7228 mitochondrial genomes in Metazoa, as well as 233 mitochondrial and 8220 chloroplast genomes in the Viridiplantae section
